Our choices for a more responsible approach to the local area
We love the landscape around us and strive to take care of it
Salvadonica is nestled in the heart of the Chianti Classico hills, within an ancient hamlet that we have carefully restored and brought back to life. Our connection with the surrounding area is an integral part of our history. For this reason, in the day-to-day management of our Borgo, we have chosen to adopt a number of solutions aimed at reducing waste and the use of single-use products, while at the same time supporting local resources and producers. This is not a destination, but an ongoing journey made up of concrete choices that we continue to develop over time.
A restored hamlet that respects its history
Salvadonica was created through the reconstruction and restoration of an ancient hamlet. The project gave the buildings a new lease of life, combining the comforts required for hospitality with elements and materials that reflect the history of the place, such as terracotta, wood and stone.
Fewer single-use products
In the rooms and throughout the Borgo, we use refillable dispensers instead of traditional single-use containers for guest amenities. This choice allows us to reduce our reliance on disposable packaging in our daily operations.
Reducing the use of plastic
We have introduced solutions that allow us to reduce the use of plastic products and packaging in the daily activities of our Borgo. These include refillable dispensers and other solutions designed to avoid, whenever possible, the use of single-use products.
Local products
Salvadonica’s cuisine and agricultural production are closely connected to the land around us. We produce some of our own products, including Chianti wine and Salvadonica extra virgin olive oil, and work with local producers to source other ingredients and raw materials. Whenever possible, we therefore choose products from our local area, supporting the farms and producers that are part of the surrounding community.
Electric vehicle charging
Guests travelling by electric car can use the charging station available at Salvadonica. A service designed to provide an additional convenience.
An ongoing journey
Reducing waste, limiting the use of single-use products, supporting the local area, and making mindful everyday choices are all part of who we are. We continue to work on these aspects with the aim of making the management of Salvadonica increasingly mindful of natural resources and the environment in which we live.
